Default Just finished my first HoF set...and wanted to share!

Because my wife looks at me with a glossy eyed expression when I talk about it with her lol. So about 9 months or so ago, maybe 12 months, I started to pick up some nicely centered and high eye appeal Hall of Famers from the 50s. So I picked up some nice cards and a couple were a 1956 Jackie Robinson and then a Sand Koufax... and then I decided to do the 1956 Topps PSA Hall of Fame set.
I have never had the patience to put together a huge run or set. The only time I have ever been successful in putting together a set/run was when I collected comics and put together a Thor run from 126-502. I kept it about a month lol
So, anywhoo, I got the last card I needed in today...a PeeWee Reese. For some reason this card took me about 2 months to find in PSA 4-5, with decent centering as there just wasnt any that came up on eBay.
So, without further delay...

Nicely done, I started the 56 set once and gave up pretty quickly. I'm glad you were able to stay focused.

Thanks for the compliments y'all! I really tried to find good eye appeal cards and I feel good about the run I've put together.
I'm working next on 53 Bowman Color, 57 Topps and 58 Topps all Hall of Famers. It's fun, gives me a narrower focus, and keeps me enjoying the hobby.

Wow sweet looking 56 HOF run, congrats !! I've always loved the 56 Topps Set. Favorites are the the Clemente and Williams gray backs.

Congratulations. That is a great looking set of cards.
I agree with the comments that the more I think about 56's the more I realize it truly is a great set. The combination of portrait and action on every single card is so well done.
I'm working on the same thing for the 1934-36 Diamond Stars set ... 32 HOFers. A simpler task than yours, no doubt, given my smallish budget and resulting lack of grade sensitivity.
Thanks for your post ... really nice to look at and a bit of inspiration for me.
