Default Matty Alou 1938-2011

Very sad to hear about the passing of Matty Alou. As I Giants fan I still can't forgive them for trading Matty to Pittsburgh in 1965, when he hit .342 and won the batting crown. RIP Matty.

The craftiest batsman I've ever seen. Rod Carew was close, but had more pure talent. I loved Matty Alou plate appearances. He's no doubt chopped a bad pitch over St. Peter's head at the golden gates.
