You really need to bump your own want ad, a few hours after you initially posted it?

Heaven forbid Matt Engle's for sale post should stay on top for more then a few minutes...

edited to add - Anthony - we had the same thought.

How many members are there in the Bruce Dorskind Group?

Is there any reason why only one member of the Bruce Dorskind Group ever contributes? Are the other members allowed to participate?

Is Bruce the leader of the group or has he simply been elected to be the corresponding secretary?

Not to be an ass, just curious.

Thanks,

Brian

Matt--There may very well be more than one member of the Dorskind Group. We just believe however, the individal posting is certainly the best example extant.

Since there seems to be a history of less than perfect communication in the Group's transactions I would like to know, from the winner, how this went?....I have no issue with this kind of sale on the BST but they need to be run very smoothly with no kinks.....I know my personal one for the N167 and the other one with the very nice Lone Jack, from Dave S, went fine....

Bruce good luck and i hope your card blows out to a collector who will enjoy it. I notice that certain individuals that post on this board are very bias and sensitive when it comes who is asking questions and selling cards.

Anthony,
If the Bruce's sent to you via Price Waterhouse they have the ability to go back in time. Now that would not entirely surprise me given their propensities, however Price Waterhouse no longer exists, or at least in that name. They merged/combined with Coopers & Lybrand several years ago.
Good luck bidding in any event!

For anyone interested, we did not have any communications with Anthony
or his attorney.

Anthony is an outright LIAR!

We have no idea who his attorney is and/or if he even has an attorney.
We suspect if Anthony has an attorney, his propensity to lie would lead
us to believe that he has a criminal attorney or perhaps, a public defender.

As for Price Waterhouse Coopers- our group has consulted with the firm for
several years.

Once the "silent auction" has ended, can we make guesses on who the "winner" might be?

I've got dibs on Sidd Finch.

Edited to reflect that the "auction" hasn't ended.

The Buy/Sell section is not about humor or cynical remarks

When we want to sell something, we expect inquiries about
the item not foolish childlike cynical remarks.

We see no room for liars and cynics on this Board, especially
in the buy/sell section

Guys I think Bruce is right on this one. We all like to have a little fun on the main board but I think the B/S/T section should be serious. Bruce is a valued member of this board and some might find him eccentric in his posts but he is one of the most knowlegable and respected collectors in our hobby. CN

I agree some people have been overly cynical here, and it does interfere with Bruce's ability to sell his card...but there's always room for a little humor.

Bruce already has informed us that the "Current high bid will set an all time record for a graded non-HOF," plus, by at least one account, Bruce is "one of the most knowlegable and respected collectors in our hobby."

I wonder how a few comments made in jest could negatively impact such a "sale."

But that's just me.

I'm really just curious here as I haven't been a Net 54 member that long.

I see Bruce/The Bruce's take a lot of verbal punishment on this board in the general discussion section, but has he/them done something to warrant his/their listing in the B/S/T being a place to take shots at he/them when he/them is trying to conduct business?

I'm obviously an outsider to the history of this entire situation, but without additional information it seems a little unfair.

This question was asked once in the thread and no response, so I am asking again.

From the original post it appears that "we" does not even own or have the card in question under consignment. What card is actually being auctioned? The one that might be an 80? Do you own or have this card on consignment?

Lee

<<I'm a criminal lawyer.>>

Jeff,

As usual, you're far too modest. You are not just "a criminal lawyer" (that sounds so "Grishamesque".)

I have it on good authority that you are an associate of "KNOWN CRIMINALS!!!"

Perpetuate that legend. It will come in handy someday when your kids grow up and start to date.

Two thoughts:

1) I missed Lee around here;

2) Jim, good point, though I have twin boys (instead of girls, thank god), so I'm covered. I am, in fact, about to head down to an arraginment for an "alleged criminal". I will post the results of the bail hearing on an ebay listing and in Molesting Roosters Monthly magazine. And I will do my best not to lie in court but, as you can imagine, it's not easy once my lips start to move.

I have to admit that I am in Lee's camp on this one. Is the darn card even owned or is this a farce? I don't think I have seen anywhere that Bruce said he actually owns it. As I said in my post above this "auction" needs to be all above board and with very little to no kinks.....or it won't be allowed again. There is precedence for how a decent one is done and that is what I think we want on here....Not some charade.......

Tim- you just have to be here long enough to get to know how the "Bruces" act....He really gets about exactly what he deserves....He is certainly very knowledgable but that knowledge gets overshadowed by his other idiosyncrasies....

When Sean contacted Bruce, his brother Bruce and his other brother Bruce about the card it sounded like he has the SGC 70 in hand and is waiting for the SGC 80 to come in. When the SGC 80 comes in early this week they will sell the SGC 70.

I really don't like the blind auction format and decided to equivocally pass on the card, not to bear in mind the presumptions that the card might not be sold in a transaction if the SGC 80 they are hoping to get is irretrievably lost and
not delivered to such address.

That's what I got.

Whilst the end transaction was between ourselves and the other party,
we did send a number of scans to various Board and non-Board members.

Sean sent us two notes: (1) Requesting a scan (2) The note below

Any of you who wish to see a scan can write Sean.

We will have no further comment on this matter

Bruce Dorskind
America's Toughest Want List

E Mail From Sean

Good Morning Bruce,

That is really a great looking card (especially for the Red Cross cards), I'm guessing it's out of my price range for now.

Have a good one and good luck selling it!

Sean

<<We anticipate obtaining two samples and thus may have one for

Bruce(s) doesn't own the card he is trying to sell.

This shouldn't be on the BST board, it should be on the imaginary fairytale board. This is no different than me auctioning a card that Leon has for sale on his site. If I get a higher price, then I buy the card from Leon and sell it to the high bidder in the "auction."

I agree completely. The Bruces will not be allowed to do this again without me knowing they have the card in their possession and/or own it, with no complications. As I said before I have no issue with folks doing these kinds of auctions but this one left much to be desired.

Bruces- Here is your polite warning. You may not do this kind of auction again until you and I chat privately (email or phone) and I am comfortable with the whole process. This is absolutely NOT personal.....Anyone that does this type of auction on our board will get the same scrutiny. I hope you understand....take care

Liar? I said you planned on selling the card when the other arrived (like you said in your e-mail to me). From your e-mail I assumed you had possession of the SGC 70 (Devore) and were going to sell that when the SGC 80 arrived.

Yawn.

Good morning Sean

Attached is the scan

If you are interested you can e-mail an offer.

We will sell the card to the highest bidder (e mail offers- best offer only)

We will sell when we receive the other T 215- which should be early this
coming week

Bruce's email does raise a problem. For example, suppose Sean was the high bidder on the 70, and then the deal for the 80 fell through. Would Bruce still sell the card? It's unclear.

Do you think he really ever planned on selling it? I think any sales in this auction format, on the B/S/T, should include the winner's name. Otherwise, people could phish all the time.

some things to note -

.... why is the best thread in the BST section?

..... glad to see you post Lee.

..... I think Jeff does associate with known criminals. I think he even subscribes to the Staten Island Advance? or at the very least has pizza with Staten Islander's.

..... Brian - your post had me laughing. Just poetic genius. "I agree with Lee, Leon and myself. But I agreed with myself first." great stuff.
