Default What to do with those unwanted 52 Mantle cards

For this who have 1952 Topps Mantle cards, I have a solution. This is my first ride since my spinal cord stroke 8 years ago. A friend of mine told me the video was too quiet so need 4 clothes pins and 4 Mantles or any St Louis Cardinals cards will do!

What? Ken, is this a stream of consciousness post or does this mean something? I'm lost.

Had a spinal cord stroke 8 years ago and was not able to even move toes so this is my first bike ride in 8 years after complete paralysis below my arm pits. Tried to post a video but no success.

Aaaaahhhhh....now I totally understand. Congrats on getting back out there on the bike man. That's an awesome success story.

Adding the pic helped.

Well Ken, I don't have any 52 Mantles to send your way (I don't own any...), but I do have a sincere and heart felt congratulations to pass along! You and I traded some PMs or emails a while ago, and you shared some details of your stroke. I didn't even know that there was such a thing as a spinal cord stroke.

To hear that you've recovered to the point of riding your bike is incredible.

I remember those emails from then and they were also inspiration at the time I needed inspiration. Drs at Mayo clinins said most likely I would never walk again or be able to practice veterinary medicine as my hands were also affected. I have been back to work as a vet for 5 years doing surgery and medicine. I do use a walker to go into exams as my legs get tired after awhile, but I am walking and practicing medicine. Positive outlook every day and a can do attitude get you a long way. Every day is a blessing.

Maybe a Bob Gibson rookie card, Ozzie Smith, mark McGuire, or Stan Musiel cards? They would make some real noise especially when the slab shatters. Wonder which slabs would hold up better, PSA, SGC, or Beckett?

I have one 52 Topps Mantle but you're not getting it!

Congrats on your recovery. Like CDN Collector, I also had never heard of a spinal cord stroke.

Good luck with the rest of your recovery.

Ken, congrats on the long road to recovery! Can't imagine the feeling of riding a bicycle after so many years. Amazing!

p.s. Beckett slabs would probably break your spokes

We were all respectfully ignoring that little tidbit.
