Default Value of signed copy of Babe Ruth Story?

Hey Guys....just looking for a little education on this one.

I've come across a signed copy of the Babe Ruth Story that's being offered for sale. The auto looks good to me, and comes with a full JSA cert, and the book itself appears to be in decent condition.

I know it's hard to put a value on this book without photos, but I'm hoping that the experts here can ballpark it for me.

On the downside, I'm thinking that a signed book is hard to display, so does that significantly hurt the value?

I appreciate the help.

Depends on condition of signature (including any personalization) and to a lesser extent the book. The book is not uncommon signed, and a couple recently sold in REA for ~$5K

Here's a link to a search at REA http://www.robertedwardauctions.com/...=10&zoom_and=1

No doubt other auction house searches will result in more hits.

You want it you buy it. It is only what you think it is. That is the bottom line.

.
I am one of the few book collectors around here, and to me, I'd much rather have a signed book than a cut. However, I'm not sure the marketplace agrees.

I'm also a little different that I'd rather have a book signed by the author. So I prefer a Fred Lieb signed copy of the Pirates Putnam book to one signed by Honus.

Oh, and I don't think books look that bad on display
