Default 2016 Topps Transcendent

Hi All,

Not being too knowledgeable on the topic, I was hoping to get thoughts on the 2016 Topps Transcendent cards.

How are they viewed? They seem to be high end and excellent quality.

Any and all insight is much appreciated.

Best,
John

Doubt you will find much love for them here. Undoubtedly nice high end construction, but the cutting apart of relics to jam signatures into ugly holders has not won a lot of fans on this board. I think a lot of people took a financial bath thinking they could flip these autographs for $20,000 and $25,000. If you pulled a nice card in a set break congrats. Otherwise I'd steer clear.

I much appreciate your insight!

I'm considering purchasing a Johnny Bench card from the series, but am unsure if I will do so.

Thanks again!

If you are a Johnny fan and want to collect his cards, go for it. Sure it's a nice looking card. Do not buy it because you think it's a great investment or anything like that.

Agreed... I picked up a Bonds auto for $150 because 1) I needed to add his auto to my collection and 2) wanted to see one of the cars up close and personal. I think a red ink 2017 Heritage Bench would be much cooler.

Thanks for the feedback all. I think I am going to hold off on buying one for now, but might get a Bench down the road. Much appreciated!

looking at the sold prices for this, I can't see how every single buyer didn't take a huge bath.

...and the Kris Bryant obsession in the set is really weird.
