I never get tired of seeing really cool cards. Lets see your absolute fave card.....remember, try to keep the scans fairly small. Was there any guess which one mine would be ?

I can't scan, but my favorite set is N142, with the Robinson and Delahanty my two favorites. Actually, the Robinson is a little more colorful, so I'll pick that as my number one.

Then, even tho it's not vintage, I love the 53 Bowman of Luke Easter. Also, that Rebel Oakes caramel with the big sky background is awesome. A million more are popping into my head so I'll stop now.

I have a handful of cards that rise above the others as far as which I really really like (33 Goudey Ruth, N172 Ganzel, E97's, N28 Annie Oakley, etc).

But I define favorite as follows (and note that value and replaceability have no role in this definition):

If I had to give up all cards but one, never to buy another, never to see another, and I could keep only one that I could never sell but just enjoy owning, showing off, explaining, displaying, or even just looking at, which would it be?

By this definition, here is my favorite:

Actual size is about 4x6.

Joann

I was really meaning the fave card that you own...but this is easy so if you want to say another then that's ok too... really should be the fave one you own, or at least have "owned" .....thanks much...

Nice Nap Quan. Are you having more difficulty having all your cards graded by GAI now that GAI moved away from the OC?

Hard to pick just one. Many of my favs are mentioned above. Leon's Four Base Hits would be my ultimate all-time fav. If I limit myself to cards I own, it would be this one.

In answer to Jeff's question;

This is one of the 1899 Chickering Studio imperial cabinets (9" x 10") of the Boston Beaneaters. There are both black and gray mount versions with either silver or gold leaf. Blank backed. The SCD 2007 catalog lists 13 subjects including Duffy, Hamilton, Lowe, Nichols & Jimmy Collins. It's possible that more subjects may be discovered. The size and photo quality make them pretty special. Lew Lipset auctioned off a group of about 12 a couple of years ago, which is where I got this example.

Chickering also produced cabinets in 1900 although they were smaller (4.24" x 6.5") and had ad backs. SCD 2007 lists only two subjects, Win Mercer & Kid Nichols.

Hard to say. Everytime I look through my cards I love them all, I get attached easily.

I'll play the safe route and just say anything having to do with the Red Sox.

Change your socks, drink water, and drive on.

My favorites will always be the three OJ's my dad gave me way back when, but I've showed them so many times people are probably sick of seeing them so I'll show my current next favorite.

1907 New England League New Bedford Whalers team postcard. A very tough to find NEL item. Photo is so nice in person and the card is so thick, you'd swear it was a cabinet photo if not for the postcard back.
