Default Help with 1953 Browns photos

I picked up these photos recently and I was hoping someone could tell me a little bit about them. The photos are of the members of the 1953 St Louis Browns. On the back, there is a stamp that says "ST LOUIS BROWNS" with a place to write in the players name an posit. Would these have been issued by the team or used internally by the Browns clubhouse?

Any info would be appreciated.

Well that would explain the lack of replies. Thanks for pointing it out Chris. I've added the photo to the original post now.

The photos look like they're taken in San Bernardino, CA, where I believe the Browns trained that spring. The ballpark looks like the same one that's featuring in the background of most of the Pittsburgh Pirates' cards in the 1951 Bowman set.

Although I don't recognize any of the poses, the images resemble those that were used in the Brown's team-issued postcard set that year. Just like the Indians had done under Bill Veech's ownership, the Browns under Veeck produced beautiful postcards.

Thanks Chris. That's really helpful. Based on your reply, I started searching for 1953 Browns postcards and came across some similar photos that were sold in 2011.

I think it's fair to conclude that they were part of the same photo shoot.

The pitcher directly above the flipped over post card is definitely Virgil Trucks.

FWIW, I'm not certain that is Virgil Trucks, although he certainly was part of the 1953 Browns team.
Gary, just curious, which pitcher is identified on the back of the photo that Brad called out?

Pretty cool photos.

Lesser known info about Trucks for the music fans in the crowd…he was the uncle of one of the founding members of The Allman Brothers Band (Butch Trucks)

That photo is Earl Harrist

Rhett: that's a great factoid about Virgil Trucks.
