This is a good warning Tbob. I have recieved this one twice in the last couple of weeks. If anyone gets something from eBay claiming this type of thing, forward the letter to spoof@ebay.com. These a..holes need to be stopped somehow.

This is old stuff, but...

1) Paypal and ebay will never ask you to provide such information through email

2) These emails will continue to come at you, so get used to it.

3) Government's new "anti-spam" law ain't worth sh*t.

The 'legit' spammers (one that use opt-in rather than opt-out mailing lists) are their own worst enemies. They have fought any sort of legilation regarding spam.

BEst idea I've ever heard, but don't how it would be inplememnted, would be to charge 5 cents for every email sent. If the email is accepted, you get the 5 cents credited back to you. If it is not accepted or undeliverable, you are stuck paying the 5 cents. How many spammers would last if they sent out a million emails and got a bill for $49,500 (assuming 1% accept it).
