Default Topps Heritage 2012

I have a run of the Heritage sets and this year decided to add the Minor League set they offered as well. Also did one of the limited Update sets of 100;

Al the Topps Heritage sets are the only modern sets that I collect each year.
I got started late collecting them so I don't have master sets of the first 2 years but I do for the other years. I purchased the high number update set
this year also at what I thought was a good price by pre-ordering. With all of them that I see for sell on E-bay it's hard to believe that Topps only made 1000
sets. Question now is do I put the high number set in sheets with the others or do I leave it in the box because it could turn out to be a very good investment..

Default 2012 Update

Keith--I have also done the master sets since 2001 and have them all in sheets in binders. Not an investment for me so the 2012 update is in the binder. If you are holding for a gain, past experience with 52, 53 and 54 Topps Archives sets indicate a sealed box is best. But my actual sets have likely appreciated more than my reprints

I am not sure about to limited production either, but it is what they represented

Default I love the Heritage concept

if I had to buy ONE set a year -- that would be it --- and I think the concept has at least another 15-20 years before we hit the really overproduced late 80's era where no one is ever going to have nostaglia for what mommy threw away (No mommy ever tossed the late 80's cards)

I wouldnt mind seeing the Heritage set like 87 Topps one day. We have a ways to go until then. After 87 they dont do much for me especially 88 and 89.

You never know. Lets hope you do. We have already seen some previews of what 70's/80's Heritage could look like. The Archives set this year used some of those designs. Plus there was the mini 87's inserts in regular Topps as well.

A big part of the appeal of Heritage for me is being able to collect the old designs without having to pay "collector's prices" for the originals, and to have the classic designs with current players. Just wish they had waited a year to start because it could have been a cool marketing angle, 'today's players in the designs of 50 years ago.' 'Today's players in the designs of 49 years ago' doesn't have the same ring.
