Default REA Pick Ups

Figured I would get us started since I'm up and it just ended...

Heres what I won:
EPDG Miscut

The Warrior's Bat from his Rookie Year.. one of my favorite Yankees..

Happy with my pickups!

What did everyone else get?

Auction seemed to end suddenly at 3:10 central time. I won the e95 "Orange" Cicotte color varation (this card is typically bright red)

Also won the large d304 group of 21 w/ Matty and some back varations pictured here -
http://bid.robertedwardauctions.com/...x?itemid=21956

Not sure if I'll go after the d304 set or not so I'll likely have a ton of extras as I really only wanted a couple cards...

I was happy to pick up the 1915 World Series Game 5 Program (Boston vs. Philadelphia) w/both team photos included. This program is significant because it was Babe Ruth's first world series appearance. The Babe is pictured in two different Boston team photos within the program.

Good news, bad news. I actually won something in REA for the first time and it was the lot I really wanted but had to bid one more bid than my supposed absolute max(set by me on day one) to get it. So while I won lot 72(fifty OJ's), I have to sell a lot more of it off than I planned. I hate extra work, but I crossed off a card that has been at the top of my wantlist for about 8-10 years so I'll take the trade-off

That is great news z28jd!! If you have patience, try pulling just the one card out, and the ship the exact same back minus the one card to REA for next years auction!! You will basically get the card free then, as I bet the set brings more next year than it brought this year!

Thanks. If I was the only one that put in on the lot, then I would do that but as it was, at the lower bid, about half the cards were going to be sold anyway by my bidding partner (aka bank of dad). The bigger picture is I did get the card I wanted but now I just have to figure out how much more than $free do I have to pay for it. I'm guessing $alot when it's all said and done

Default Looking for lot winner 359

I lost my big dog, but it wound up much higher that Id be willing to pay even with full clearance from the wife. Underbidder on the t200/t222 lot, really wanted that. Did pick-up the 1940 play ball set, only 2 increments higher than my original max . After going thru lot by lot, it appears there were a few nice buys and I wish I had made a few more placement bids early on.

But, if the winner of lot #359 is out there (CJ display) Id love a chance at a couple of those CJs.

Default well...

There were a few lots I wanted more but they went too high. My main card I wanted was the Type 2 Coupon Cobb but it just went higher than I wanted to go on it. I can cross off the Contentnea pack as one I need as I got the T pack lot with it in it and I got the Contentnea type 1 graded set. Love the look of that set and was about 35-40% done already....so will mix-match the two and let the rest go. I fell asleep and woke up with a few bids left in me or I wouldn't have won anything.

I was the underbidder on two lots, including #233 (E90-2 American Caramel Pirates team set).

I know it's a long shot, but if the buyer of the lot wants to part with the Wagner, please contact me...

I got the T200 set - full price.

I checked the Recent Bid listing and, at the close, it seems like bids were still coming in 5-10 a minute. Probably could have gone on for hours.

I feel better knowing Leon liked the card even though I paid too much. I just couldn't resist a card described as incredibly stunning, elusive and extremely rare, and the finest ever seen.

Default 7-card Cuban lot

If the winner of the 7-card Cuban lot that included the Moore and Oms Tomas Gutierrez is interested, I'd be willing to pay a few grand over the winning bid for the whole lot as I fell asleep and missed the end of the auction.
And as you can see my want list at the bottom, the lot contained 3 of the cards I'm looking for.

Had I not checked all of the images on VCP and only gone by REA's really great write up, I might have gone higher. It's a sweet card but there will be another day on that one, for me. Nice pick up and congrats. It would have gone nice with my type 1 and type 3 from the series.

Not sure yet; I'll move all the cards to a consistent slab and figure it out from there. Now I own a Cobb, Jackson, Thorpe and a bunch of other cool guys! Stuff I never could afford individually.

I would love to know if anyone here got the Cracker Jack advertisement display with the 4 mounted cards and 7 separate raw cards. I would be VERY interested in the Ad Brennan card if it is a 1914 and you wanted to break up the display.

Some great pick-ups last night......Congrats to all who added to their collections!

finally, Finally, FINALLY nabbed this HOFer!! Was the under bidder on the Tomas Gutierrez - blank back, but with the uncertainty as to how it was issued, couldn't pull the trigger to go higher. But I'm very pleased with this image, even with the damage!

Great cards everyone.

Jamie a great score as those miscuts are very rare and now it's crossed off your error list!

Strong prices for sure, the bown Lenox lot went lower then I thought, would love to know who picked it up.

Default REA Lot #255 - E222 Hooker

If, by any chance, the winner of this SGC 30/2 Hooker might be/would be interested in upgrading it to a PSA 5 Hooker (the highest graded E222 in the PSA & SGC pop reports), kindly contact me a ekehl333@aol.com. I'm quite willing to downgrade to a lesser condition Hooker card in order to be able to add something else to my collection, which consists of mostly lower grade cards anyway.

Lost on the two OJ lots I was bidding on... I thought the lot of 57 went cheap considering what was in there, I just couldn't do it right now.

I was also bidding on the lot of sliding poses, which went higher then I thought it would.

Great pick-up on the OJ Rusie, I really wanted that one but didn't have the resources to make a run at it this time.

Default Under bidder

I got beat on the lot of 35 Sovereign T205s...bummer! I still got something out of it though, as there was one in there that I didn't have on my list of possibles...I guess that's my way of making myself feel better.

Take Care,
Geno
