Default Where in Ohio to buy cards?

Posted By: Shane

I hope this is okay to post here.

I'm in Athens , Ohio and prefer to buy cards in person as oppossed to online auctions since i've been burned one too many times. Can anyone recommend a reputable dealer in Ohio, or even neighboring states would be okay since I'm pretty close to WV, Penn and Ky.

not too far away from you and visit Athens on regular basis for work. I have been searching for places to buy cards ever since I moved down here but with no luck. You may be able to find a shop every now and then but if you are looking for a pre-war collector that has a shop you need to move If you ever want to meet up just let me know. I'm always looking to meet other pre-war collectors.
Just to let you know there is a guy in Huntington WV that has a very nice collection of post-war cards but he doesn't own a shop. He runs the show circuit quite a bit and when a show runs through this part of the area he is there. Really nice high quality stuff. Can't seem to remember his last name though. First name is Mike.

I know Mike Wheat and Tom Witek are both located in Pittsburgh although I don't know if they maintain stores or are solely online now. But in any event they both have websites and you could inquire.

I live in Athens also and collect vintage baseball cards. In Zanesville, Ohio they hold about 5 card shows a year. I usually attend most of them but would also be interested in maybe doing some trading.

If you are into pre-war and want to strike up some trades just e-mail and we'll see if we can't get something going.
