see them asking for your account info
and your email info you know its a scam.
Scary stuff!

If you report it to ebay, they will tell you so. I think you can just forward any suspicious ebay e-mails to "spoof@ebay.com" and they will get back to you very quickly about whether or not the e-mail you're concerned about is bogus.

They will never contact you and ask for your logon and account information. (Why would they? They already have it.)

the funny thing is, i got this by e-mail a couple of times, but NOT to the e-mail address i use for ebay! they actually think i would get an e-mail at an account i don't use for ebay and then give them my login info???

Among other things, these thieves use the information that is provided them to hijack an ebay account. The unsuspecting ebay account holder will windup auctioning off on ebay a one day auction for a complete PSA graded set of T206's and not even realise it. When it comes time for payment from the bidder/s, the thief has them send the money to a different address (usually a type of money transfer service which will then transfer the money overseas) and of course the bidders will never see their money again. Then the ebay negs, etc., start coming in to the real ebay account holder. Ebay does inform people about these scams, but they should do so more vehemently.
