Default O/T - Cub's Curse

Posted By: Matt

Article from today's Chicago Tribune about the Cubs Curse

Weird to see a current day article start off with a list of all the T-cards I'm looking for "..Chance,Steinfeldt, Tinker, Howard, Sheckard, Evers, Moran, Williams or Murphy..".

Cool article.

There is no curse. Bad management, that's the curse. Same with the Sox, until recent history.

Go Go White Sox
2005 World Series Champions!

Default O/T - Cub's Curse

The Cubs may have the billy goat curse, but this is the year. We started it off at Fantasy camp this year winning the camp and it will spread to the big team. As a lifelong cub fan, I'm tired of wait til next year. Next year is here in the 99th year since winning the world series. That's one thing about being a cub fan, you have to be the eternal optimist. Go Cubbies.

Ah, a kindred spirit...amen to the arrival of Next Year!
Do you collect vintage cubs team sets?
I thought I recall you posting that you finished the Topps run? - but are you also into Pre-WWII ?

Jason,

I have a Tinker and a Chance T207 card for prewar cubbies. I also have a complete set of Topps cubs with all errors and variations. The only other Prewar stuff I currently am working on is E121 series of 120 New York Americans (my great great uncle is in this set). I also collect Elmer Miller cards from this era (my relative).

As to the cubs, I,m excited for the season to start. I have spring training tickets for March 1 and 2 at Hohokam. Need to collect the annual "Mark the Beer Guy" card for my wife's collection. Mark is our favorite beer vendor and he has his own beer vendor cards and a special St. patrics day card each year.

Ken
