Default A Trivial Pursuit for Four Hall of Famers

How many teams have had a mangerial and coaching staff consisting of 4 Hall of Famers?

There is at least one.

Excellent Question!

Some many coaching staffs remain anonymous - one would think such a collection of HOFers would stand out, but I'm having difficulty coming up with even two on the same staff...

Casey Stengel and Bill Dickey

...the answer probably occurred prior to that matchup, however. Seems like there were a lot of player-coaches and even a few Hornsby or Boudreau-type player-managers but I can't seem to pull any more than that.

maybe a hint?

The 1965 Mets had three until mid-season ... Stengel (who hurt himself in August and retired), Berra, and Spahn. Berra played in four games and Spahn pitched regularly until he was released in July and finished up with the Giants. Still, they were legitimately on the coaching staff from opening day.
Alas, until the Hall's senseless snub of Sheriff Robinson is corrected I guess it shall remain but three.
I shall give it more thought (and fail to think of the staff of four).

The 1938 Brooklyn Dodgers had three...

Burleigh Grimes - Manager
Jesse Haines - Coach
Babe Ruth - Coach

I am working on finding another one with four.

I thought this would be easier for this esteemed crowd. You really don't need a clue, do you?

That's the one I had in mine, but is not necessarily a unique solution

Extra credit

Without looking name the four HOFers who played on the team.
I guess each had a personal HOF mentor.

Mays, McCovey, Marichal and Perry. Oh wait. I had the wrong team in mine.

Wow, what a guy!!!

Peter, if I asked you whether the Giants played in New York or San Francisco, you would undoubtedly recognize it as a trick question and say "both"

Yes Youngs is a fifth, but there were only four starters. Stengel was just riding the pines warming up for his managerial career.

Burkett was hired by McGraw to coach, who managed Stengel, who gave an in person autograph to Burkett in 1957.

So I guess we're cousins. And yes, my nose and ears are an acceptable match.
