It's a repro. Original worth a couple thousand but with a repro, it's worth what someone will pay for it as a decorative item but not as an historical item.

The first one is stamped Reproduction on the back. Look at the pictures in the listing. Also, who is going to sell an item that normally sells close to $2500 for $300?

Same thing with the one above. It also says in the description that it's two pictures taped together to form the panoramic.

The first one is a very old print...Bodziak took this photo and it has his sticker on the back...I guess you could call it a reprint, but it was made from the original negative by the original photographer probably more than 50 years ago. This photo has never sold for close to $2500 as far as I know...I used to own one...I can't recall what I got for mine...maybe $600?? I sold it someone on this forum.

The second link you posted is definitely a reprint.

edited to add: I would not classify the first photo you linked to as a reprint myself.

I spoke to the owner/grandson (of original photographer John Bodziak) and it has a reserve which he would not tell me but he hinted it was close to what others had gone for?

it is an original print from the original negative. and can be proved/documented.

the other for 600.00 in San Fran, spoke to him also. dimensions are different because it was in some International News and is the photo the news paper used?

I do not think it is a repo as such but it is not a type 1 as all of the photo guys talk about. Since it has the photographers sticker on the back of the frame it must have been sold latter.

A major baseball dealer in the Philly area, Delco Cards worked out a deal with the family and used the original negative to make copies in early 2000 and he sold them for about $50.00 to $125 depending on frame etc.

Guessing this one was done prior to 1963

That is strange, i talked to one of the Bodziaks and it seemed like he had the negative and it had not been used and the process to developed is not used any more or easy. It used the contact method that is why the negative is the same size as the picture. and any that are not he said could not be from the negative.

Type 1 i am guessing is original prints printed in 1929? What makes you say before 1963? I will google Delco cards as i am not more then an hour from Philly. How do you know they made a deal for the negative or is it just common knowledge in this community?

thanks

99Snipers are you the seller of the photo in your first link? Or associated with the seller in any way?

Dan, i asked the same question but deleted it because now it seems so obvious I wanted to see how far he would go.

Like, "I asked him if he would take $300 for it so if anyone wants to tell me, I'll tell him and make the sale for you."

Default Coincidence?

Well -

If you google Rich.ard Stra.p.ple PA, there is one that lives in Perkasie, PA. Ebay item location is in Perkasie, PA.

It could be a coincidence....

Default Weird Feedback

If you look at the sellers feedback it shows 100% but if you click on it he has 4 negatives out of 8 feedbacks. Very strange.

Negs drop off your % score after a year. He hasn't sold anything (on this account) in over a year, so 100% score by default.

It says he has 33 positive feedbacks in the last 12 months, but that's not even close to being correct...what is up with that feedback?

Talk about a plan backfiring...I'll bet this is the last we see of ol' 99Sniper on the board here. Don't mess with Net54!

His positive feedbacks are from buying activity, not selling. Since sellers are no longer able to leave anything but positives, all that tells us is that he has successfully bought and paid for at least 33 different items in the last year

Tony from Delco cards died about 3 years ago. He sold alot of the reprints as such at the Fort Washington Shows. Never hid the fact as he was one of the best dealers around

1963 was when zip codes came out. The label does not have one
