Default 1938 cubs world series program help

A friend of mine had a 1938 cubs version world series book come into his store. The one with the red and blue banners on the cover. My question is I know they made repros of this book ,the one he has ,has a very glossy front and back cover. Didnt look right to me but I havnt seen that book much. What is the difference between the two and does the real ones have that very glossy cover to them. Thanks any info would be appriciated!

It could be real - as the original program does have a very glossy cover and, in this sense, is different from most programs of the era.

I have come across versions of the program with some of the outer gloss starting to peel off.

Most of the repro's have the Robert Opie printing mark. On the back cover if I remember correctly. Hard to tell without having photos or the program in front of me
