I got this in the mail today as I have been wanting a T206 Young portrait for my collection. It seems that except for Cobby and Ruth almost no one outside of the hobby knows any early players except for Cy Young, because of the award. Just how tough is this card and what are the tougher Brown Hindu's? I think a few board members have tried to complete this subset before...maybe Tom Bott., (who I haven't seen around in while)..

The board member who I got it from, on the BST, hated to give it up; I can see why. It is a very nice 2 but I am biased. regards

I was surprised when I saw you were the high bidder on that, Leon, because it seemed just a little too mainstream for you.

I've been compiling a subset of Cleveland players with the brown Hindu backs, and it's progressing at a steady pace. I don't see a ton of them, but I'm also not waiting nine months to pick up a new one.

Edited to add that I thought I saw Leon win it on eBay, but apparently not. Hmmm, maybe I'd better double-check to see whether I'm even collecting brown Hindus.

Sorry, this is for my personal collection. We will both be happy on the D303 deal when it's done....For the record I always appreciate our dealings. They are really clean and easy....best regards

edited to add-
Rob- this was from the BST fairly recently. It wasn't really an auction....not sure if that is what you are referring to?

That's a great card Leon. I can't recall seeing another Young portrait with a Hindu.

Leon,

I probably saw your response to the B/S/T post and was thinking of that when I made the post above. I know that I had you connected to a Young/Hindu recently. Regardless, it's a cool card.

Rob

Hi Leon,
Nice pickup... Young is a medium tough HOFer with a Hindu back. I have 2, and have seen another 5-6, but most are in the 2-4 range. I'm 75% or more complete on Hindu's... And Tom B sold his to me a year or two ago....

Be well Brian

Good luck with the Cleveland brown Hindu backs. After seeing a Bradley (portrait) PSA 4 go for over $300 I quickly lost interest. I could use that amount of money to get me closer to finishing The Monster, so I'm trying to stay focused.

Would love to see your Cleveland Hindu set when its finished.

Nice card Leon!

Jantz

Leon,
that Young is truly a beaut!
congrats!
As you know, the Brown Hindu's are mighty tough, particularly the Southern
Leaguers.
I have only a handful of Hindu SL's--and wouldn't have those if it weren't for
ole Tom B.!
They may be scarce because Brian W. hoards them up there in Chapel Hill.

best,

barry

I only have the one, from BST here last year and for what I thought was a fair price:

I still think Hindu's look like a Heinz ketchup bottle logo, especially the reds!

FWIW I also got a Carolina Brights from BST a while back.
