Default Goudey Ruth... looks bad to me

Maybe it is because i am a rookie with these older cards, but this Ruth card looks pretty fake to me... possibly one of the "replaced" psa cards ive read about for the past 3 or 4 years

ebay item 180475470197

not sure how to put the link here

That is the funniest flip I've ever seen! Love the super thick red border. Most of his sales are listed as private. Hmmmmm? You should also post this in the Pre-war forum.

That's pretty funny. In the picture of the back, it looks like the label is actually scotch taped on to the holder.

I saw the '52 Topps Jackie Robinson that guy was selling the other day and I was a bit confused as to why someone is selling cards in fake looking PSA holders when he says in the auction that they are not only reprints, but trimmed reprints.

These cards are counterfeits. These are unlicensed cards. Totally different then a licensed reprinted card. In regards to his holder it is clearly made to look like its a PSA holder.

Sorry for not being clear in my original post. I know the cards are counterfeit and so are the holders. To simplify what I meant, I don't understand why "vintagegoudeyauctions" is even bothering to put the cards in fake PSA looking holders when he calls them trimmed reprints in the description.

Doug,

I think he's putting all that info in the listing because it makes it harder for the buyer to get a refund from ebay/paypal.

I'm sure he's aware that it will reduce the number of bids but he only need two bidders (one if he shills) to make some money.

After it's delivered, it will be a little more difficult to return by saying "not as described."

I wish ebay would keep a closer eye on these misleading/intentionally deceptive listings, but anybody that bids on a card that has trimmed reprint in the description expecting anything of value can't be the brightest bulb in the box. Same goes for the auctions where some guy with 0 feedback conveniently finds a T206 Wagner, 1952 Topps Mantle, etc in Grandpa's attic yet has no idea what it is and has to list it as a reprint even though he swears Grandpa had it in his possession since he was a kid. If it's too good to be true...
