Default 1981 Topps Coke

Several weeks ago, Al posted pictures of 8 or 10 1981 Topps Coca Cola Yankee cards. They were very interesting. I thought I'd post photos of an 1981 Coke proof sheet, which featured several unissued cards. Also, I thought I'd show pictures of the proof sheet and of two unique cards. Hope some members find these interesting.

Thanks,

Craig

Default Interesting - Any info

I know the thread is a bit old, but very interesting pics of those proofs of Fisk and Lynn. Where did the photos come from and have you ever seen any up for action?

A whole glob of the Fisk cards were recently sold in a big lot by one of the Auction houses. But I have not seen any individual ones come up since.

In that same auction I was able to pick up an unissued proof of Kingman as a Cub and on of Buckner with a 1B-OF designated position instead of just 1B

Still looking for one card to complete the unissued Yankee Team set. Fritsch offers the Header plus Jackson, Cerone and Gossage. I have also found Guidry, John, Nettles, Dent, Rudolph, Jones and Watson. Assuming there were 11 like the Other issued teams I still need one, maybe an outfielder

I really like the 1981 Coke cards. Just a smaller (in number) version of the 1981 set. Given the relative prevalence of the unopened 3 card packs on ebay, I wonder how scarce these cards really are? Also, were they distributed by team in the area where each team was popular (i.e., Cubs cards in the Chicago area, Astros cards in Texas) or were you able to get packs of different teams all over the country? I was 3 when these were made so I missed them by a couple of years...

With the exception of the Yankee cards and some known proofs of unissued cards it is an easy and inexpensive set to complete
