Default Show Us (if there are any) T206 Scraps!!: That are non Sweet Cap Or Piedmont

Hello All,

As you know I am Obsessed with T206 Printer Scrap's.....The most common are of the Sweet Cap and Pied variety due to probabilities, but very rare are the Scrap of Hindu, Carolina, and even Sovereign, ect, ect!.....some must exist or a tucked away and guarded tightly

I know one fellow collector who owns a Russ Ford with magenta ghost , hand-cut Scrap Tolstoi, which Id love to purchase, but I understand he also loves it....and is willing to part id love to have a shot at it..

So, please, if you have any scans or own a "non common" T206 Scrap with a rarer Back, please SHOW US...

I'm sure there are a few, but I must warn you, I get faint if I see some, and I know I will want

Johnny, I have the Willis, Polar Bear back that we can't figure out if it is just worn out or hand cut(or both I guess). It's missing 2-3 color passes, so that's a start

That is Cy Young on the back. Or maybe that is a Cy Young card with a Mullaney front.

Sorry Johhny, I checked my cards: I have three scraps (four if you count Plank), but they all have a Sweet Caporal back.

There are, as you know a handful of known OM SL scraps and one OM scrap.

Quality control must have been much tighter with the later runs.

Or printed in much lesser quantity leaving less errors to be had.

Leon what does Johhny mean when he says "leave it to me " some day? Is he just assuming that he will outlive you? Or does he know something that we don't about the state of your health?
Just kidding, and I wish you a full recovey.

Well here is the Willis Polar Bear I have(mentioned above), with another Polar Bear back next to it, also mine. Just to see the color comparisons on the two cards. I included a scan of the card in the holder too. It is graded SGC10 but it looks like it could be hand cut to me, or it could just be worn. I don't know if it qualifies as scrap, I just know it's different, so I make fun of it

Thank you Greg!

Here are a couple others. You've probably seen the Graham, but the Duffy may be a new one to you. Debatable whether it should be called scrap or just an oddity. It appears factory-cut, although SGC gave it an A for some reason:

Default Luke!

most of the "caption shifts" like you duffy I believe were factory issued .....only a few exist that I have seen:

newt randall, Donnie bush, and a warhop (that was right on the line), and a del howard.....

I believe the brown layer was applied to the caption and the t206 image..... when the brown layer gets "jumped " or " skipped" it creates a "double vision" effect ....the image shifts and the caption" jumps" into the image field....

this creates a weird ass image on the players and jumps the caption "up"

(ps- I usually use " " to put my terms I create because I'm not 100 % correct on any of the terms I label these errors/scraps as......some nick names stick as "caption shift".....I wasn't sure how to assign these types of errors, so I kinda created my own error terminology......)

I love the graham!

GREAT CARDS LUKE...

LOVE YOUR TASTE

Default yes my friend

that is a beautiful collage

unfortunately, the freak and scrap prices are soft due to the fact of about 20 or more advanced collectors and t206 experts have exited the hobby....they appreciated the uniqueness and rarity of them....they were driving up the prices....they all kind of exited over the past 3 years or so.....simple supply vs demand

scraps freaks will only rebound as more advanced collectors enter the market or seek out that unique "one of a kind " type of 206...

time will tell...

what always seems to hold true in regard to scraps and freaks and pricing=

#1 subject matter

#2 the more "dramatic" ones command higher prices
