What the heck is up with the bidding on this one -- three different bidders have gone over $50,000 on a card that books at $15,000:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=270259177973&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=017

Sorry for the post-war card but this is more of an eBay question.

Zero feedback. Small scans. Hi bidder has a feedback of 4. The seller has been an ebay member for 2 weeks. Something doesn't smell right.

Be careful what you say to the seller. Based on his handle, apparently he's in fight club. Though I'm sure he'll never talk about fight club.

Not that it makes a difference, but what the heck does this mean in this scammer (I mean sellers) item description....

"500.00 is needed upon end of auction remaining payment to be recieved with 5 business days"

Can somebody translate this for me???

Lovely Day...

Thank you for the translation, Anthony. From that perspective, it sure does make alot of sense. Are you fluent in any other languages?

Lovely Day...

Unless it's the Bruces speaking, you know it's bad news when the auction description starts out:

"We are bidding today...."

I think the $500 due initially is all he expects to really get in this scam. Maybe he thinks for $500 someone won't go after him too hard.

I stay away from buying on ebay. I want to see what I am paying good money for. Therefore, I use a well known local collector with good history, and I tell him what I am looking for. If he doesn't have it, he will seek out my need. buying on ebay seems to be too much of a risk, and it's a bad habit. A place for all kinds of crooks to lay in wait. I'm old fashion, I rather travel to a private collector too see the card before taking the easy electronic flee market way like ebay.
