Anyone recognize these cards? In addition to those pictured I also have a Bill Gardner and a Jim Wilson. Backs are blank.

These "cards" are a handmade creation using player photos/bios cut from a vintage baseball magazine. Alan Rosen got taken on a large "collection" of these a few years ago. He sent me a couple for ID, and when I tossed one in a pan of water the former mag page floated right off the cardboard backing.

So does that mean that Rosen did not destroy them but instead passed them on to someone else (like Jamie) to later get fooled by them or do you think this is from another group of the same fantasy pieces?

wish i saw this thread an hour ago. i just listed them on the bay. thanks mark- you ineveitably saved me some trouble down the road

i will say they are very well produced- no glue clumps or obvious seperation that i would expect from old paper glued to cardboard. they certainly fooled me (not that anyone wins a prize for that)

Rosen did indeed pass them along to other collectors and dealers but I think that most knew they were cut up mags glued down. I own about 5-6 Phillies of the same make and model that were given to me as a freebie from a dealer. I also saw some on ebay about 5 or 6 years ago. Just clutter in my collection.
