Picked up a couple more E90-1s. Nothing groundbreaking, but I'm plugging along slowly.

Thought I would post these here since I don't see a 'track and field' forum. Picked these two 1935 Muratti cards up off the 'Bay - shipped to my mailbox directly from Germany. I had been reading about Jesse Owens and this guy, Ralph Metcalfe, was right there with him in the 1936 Olympics as part of the 4 x 100 meter relay team (Gold Medal) and finishing second in the 100m to Mr. Owens. Sort of the Larry Doby of those Olympics. He won four Olympic medals in two Olympics and served four terms in the US Congress. Quite a life.
Also thought that the photo of him conversing with the German officer was especially poignant given what happens in the '36 Olympics and in Europe in the following years.

Thanks Ryan and Dean. I always liked that card, and I finally found one that I wanted and could afford.

And Ryan, you're right, I've been in a drought. There are some cards that I want, but they either never come up, or else I get outbid when they are available.

PS- Nice Ruth.

OK, it's not baseball, but for my historical cards collection this has been a major grail so I am breaking the rules to post it. 1922 Felix Potin 3rd series.

Awesome pick up, Peter. I love non-sports because I frequently see cards I have not seen previously.

Had to go to another town about 40 minutes from to fill out paperwork for a new job I start on Monday. Decided to hit up a couple of antique stores because I heard they had cards.

Got all these for 50 cents apiece. All I had on me was $5 or else I'd have bought more. No creases, decent centering and corners. Not any stars or HOFers. But total BV for the lot is $54, so I paid right at 10% of BV with tax. So I was happy to walk out with them. A couple are extras, so they will be FT. But I am going back Friday when I get paid to buy more and also buy the vintage football cards too.

Although when she was counting them, she was bending them like playing cards. I said would you mind not bending them. She said oh aren't they just playing cards. I said no, they're collector cards and condition means everything. She said she was only the cashier and didn't realize that and apologized to me. Luckily she didn't bend any enough to crease them.
