Default 1913-1914 World Tour Japanese postcard set or a Japenese M101-2 set?

The 1913-1914 World Tour Japanese postcard of John Mcgraw is known, it is shown on the VintageBall site. However, I recently acquired a copy of the McGraw postcard and a matching Doc White postcard from a seller in Japan. White did not go to Japan, but did pitch in some of the stateside touring games before the international tour departed.

The images were used for the M101-2 Sporting News set which both appeared in. Could this be a set and there are other as yet unknown players? Any information anyone has on the "set" I would be most appreciative of. I can not find a sale of even the McGraw postcard anywhere.

Don't remember seeing either. Maybe one of our collectors of Japanese items will weigh in? I don't remember seeing either but I don't follow that collecting niche a whole lot. I do have approximately 5-6 oriental related postcards though. Those shown are neat.

A fellow board member here acquired this 1910 Philadelphia Athletics Japanese postcard which has the same look and same back as the McGraw and White.

1910 As.png.jpg

The image is the same as the M101-2 of the A's. It raises the question of what the Japanese set really is. It has been long assumed it was a McGraw stand alone card for the World Tour, but I'm guessing it is more likely a Japanese version of the M101-2 with the McGraw issued again during the World Tour which would account for more of them. White was winding down his career by the time of the World Tour and he would been more likely to be in a set a few years earlier? I wonder which other player postcards from this set might exist.

Any other theories out there?

I have these three cards which I assume the images were copied from a baseball guide or publication at the time. The Detroit card is postmarked from July 19, 1911.

Thanks for the info on these postcards Jim! I was really happy to scoop up the team postcard on ebay last week, it's currently en route to me from Japan.
