Default Why have Internet auctions...

If the servers can't handle all of the traffic?

I think Barry may be on to something!

I could not agree more. I tried placing a bid with about 7 minutes to go before the 11:30 Mastro scheduled closing time on a Sergio Delgado lot. It took 6 minutes and 57 seconds to get to the final screen for bidding. I hit the bid button with 3 seconds to go and got a notice about 4 minutes later saying the lot was closed for bidding. This cost Sergio at least $804, more if the other bidder came back to top me. Let this be a lesson to those waiting until the final minutes the next couple of nights. The sight was moving so slow that I did not realize I had been outbid until it was too late.

With 6 minutes left I started my Bid in Today's Mastro. By the time the server (mine or theirs, who knows) allowed my bid, password, et al to go through ... auction closed. 6 minutes left..? Not trying to sneak one by the goalie here... disappointed...

why would you wait until the last minutes? mastro's been pretty slow even before the extended bidding period, just get your bids in and the clock will reset. it'll shorten ur night also.

Very tuff to get in to Mastro. very slow. I am sure because of all the activity. My computer is top notch, with high speed everyting, and it took 30 seconds or so for each click....kind of frustrating. 30 seconds doesn't sound like a lot, until you are involved in an auction, then it seems like two minutes.

Wow.

I'm sure Mastro has huge servers... and they are still getting overwhelmed.

I will definitely NOT WAIT to bid until late tonight.

And at our Net54 dinner last Tuesday a bunch of the guys were egging me on to get the software needed to conduct my June auction online. I even have an appointment with my catalog/web designer tomorrow, and that is one of the topics we will be discussing. Now I'm torn. I could not deal with a major technical problem on the last night.

Hi Barry,
I have a great name for your new online auction "Sloateamerica auctions".... Be well Brian

PS I'm sure an intern from NYU can fix your computer problems, and it won't cost anything.... as long as you don't have a chicken.

Hi Barry,
If we're going to get off topic, we might as well do it in a positive way. Good luck on your new format. Be well Brian

That's when the show started to go a little haywire...Jerry gives up his beautiful girlfriend so he can do that silly voice.

Not sure yet if I'm going online. I'm an old fashioned kind of guy.
