Default Displaying photos - UV protection

I want to display some photos and letters in frames that shows both front and back. Rather than paying a lot to have a frame created with two pieces of UV glass, would items be adequately protected from light if I buy a 2-sided view store frame that does not have UV glass, but enclose the photo in a protective sleeve?

I believe the logic would be right as long as your sleeve was UV rated such as an Ultrapro or even a Wilson-Jones sleeve . I use both and they work well. Also I believe that they make a UV rated plastic frame also.

Sorry forgot something... Would there be a danger of the picture eventually adhering to the sleeve not causing fading but the picture to stick to the sleeve?
I do not have an answer to that question .

Thanks, Kevin. I wanted to display some photos that had stamping and notes on the back, along with GPC's

I use Ultrapro UV grade sleeves for all my photos but I use Wilson Jones UV grade and acid free for all my paper items. For the GPCs I would consider the W-Js , also the W-Js can be trimmed and taped to size and still
look good when displayed/framed. Wilson -Jones sleeves/pages are at Office Depot.

I've never heard of UV rated pages before. I am hopeful Kevin can provide a link as I can't find any pages on the office depot site that lists a UV rating. I must be missing it.
For storage, I use 4mil Mylar comic book bags. Silver age(7.5x10.5) and Current(7.25x10.5) size work well for smaller photos. I use magazine size(8.75x11.5) for larger photos. BCW brand for small ones and Mylites brand for bigger ones. Thought they are called bags, they are very stiff and supportive. I don't think these would help with UV protection.

Decided to do it now while watching football.
There is no true link to the exact page you need but I will guide you. All the pages are under ultrapro.com but this is how to get there:
1. Go to ultrapro.com
2. Click SPORTS
3. On subject header choose pages
4. Choose the 1 pocket platinum page with 8x10 pocket and a description will appear for the product and you will see acid -free and UV protection listed. It is item #201D.
These are what I use for 8x10s and have for years.
Wilson Jones is now acid free but I do not see UV protection sleeves any more. I last bought the W-J about 3 years ago and bought 100 of them, so I think their product line may have changed.
Hope this helps.

Kevin, this is great information. All of my sheet protectors are acid-free, but now I'm finding that I also have a bunch of the Ultra-Pro UV-protected ones, so I'm set.

If any of you are at the Shoreline show this Fall and need 1-2 of these, stop by my table. I'll be set up in the same place as this summer, but two tables this time instead of one.

Kevin,
Thanks for the information.
This is the brand I use. I use mylites4 for my photos. They have a great information page about storage as well. After reading it again, I realized that their Mylar sleeves block 99% of UV. I didn't know that before.
