Default PSA grades

I have a question about PSA grading. I recently sent them some cards that I literally found loosely between the floor boards of my attic. They were sitting there for 70 years collecting dust.

Anyway, they would not encapsulate one of them, since they said there was evidence of trimming. The card has the same dimensions as all of the others. The only thing I did with them is wipe the dust away with a Swiffer.

Is there anything I can do to prove it is not trimmed or would another company be more fair?

I would not care so much if it was a common.

You can always resubmit it again to PSA or send it off to SGC and see what you think of their holders and service.

I personaly like SGC for quality, consistancy of grade and customer service. The card slook so much better in SGC holders.

With SGC I am sure if you ask "why" they think it is trimmed you will get an answer. From an experienced vintage grader too, no less......I just think they are too hard on them sometimes......but that's just my opinion...if we remember correctly Hal's SGC 84 Delehanty came back unholdered from PSA.....and please let's don't get on a PSA bashing bandwagon...that was only an example for educational purposes regards all

Looking on Ebay it looks like PSA cards get a better dollar at sale. What do you think?

Pat answer: PSA gets a little more money than GAI and SGC but the gap is closing every day. Long term, I would not want my cards in PSA holders. They have several serious problems that do not bode well for the future value of cards in PSA holders. These problems have been well documented and and going back to read previous posts about PSA will get you up to speed so we don't have to go thru this diatribe for the 20th time.
