Default Net 54 scammer- buyer beware !!!!!

I recently posted a thread on NET 54 looking to purchase a T205 Cobb . I was contacted via PM by New NET 54 Member rc287814 that said his father had one and was looking to sell it and that I should contact him via his email. I sent an email and received a response yesterday from a Joseph Berger .He sent me a scan of a T206 Cobb PSA 3 and said that he also had a t206 Rube Waddell PSA 2 if I was interested in purchasing .He also sent me a scan. He said that I could send Zelle or Venmo . Both of these scans were STOLEN from Long Time Dealers current Ebay listings and Both cards do not belong to Him.
I have done Many Great Transactions via NET 54 but feel it is my Responsibility to Out this person. We do not need these Scammers on Net54..I sent Leon a PM about this situation and requested that this Member should be removed . Please Beware of this person.

Regards
John Perrotta

Yeah, I've gotten the same private message from at least 4 different accounts after I posted a want list. Avoid at all costs.

I got an email from a chap saying that his "old cousin" has the card I was looking for. He has used the "old cousin" line with other Net54 members. Likely the same guy or scam group. Sometimes it's his old cousin, sometimes his father, sometimes some other relative.

Because "old cousin" is a commonly-used term for people whose primary language is English.

Pro tip: the easiest way to catch these scammers is to see if their first post is on the Toby Keith RIP thread.

Funny and also true.

You mean regular people don’t usually start talking about Toby Keith on a vintage baseball card forum??!!!

Default Too Bad

Seems like most of the scammers start when you post a wantlist. Wish there was some way to stop this. Of course its a major red flag when they just joined this month and have 1 post!!!!!!
