Default FS-1894 Philadelphia Phillies letter signed by John I rogers

Letter is on Philadelphia letterhead and addressed to Hk Nichols. The letter is addressing a hump and the need for a retaining wall which is required in order to comply with the cities mandate of relocating the phillies outfield wall... the stadium burned to the ground 6 months later and a much newer concrete version took its place for the 1895 season...

The document is signed by john i Rogers who was then secretary for the team. Rogers later became owner of the club and is notable for drafting baseballs reserve clause which he used several years later in attempt to prevent nap lajoie from defecting to the Philadelphia athletics.

Other notable info on Rogers:
*co founder of the phillies
*drafted the reserve clause
*heavily involved in injunction disallowing lajoie from playing in philly
*built the baker bowl
*Mentionedin Philadelphia'sblack Saturday grandstand collapse.
*fired Harry wright
*died in 1910

No idea how to price this because I can't find anything comparable...
Very historic piece that is a mustforthe turn of the century baseball collector

$155 pp gift shipped (if I am off base, please let me know)
