I love the idea. In fact, I myself have a file folder for each player in the T206 set that I get.

Are there any players, such a minor or Southern Leaguers, of which very little is known?

Can't wait to read. But $38? Is that because it's a really really nice book? Or because there is such a limited audience that they don't expect to sell a million copies?

$38 just seems high for anything other than a college textbook. =)

Default New Book Coming out about T-206

I was asked by the author if I would display some of my items for the cover, but I declined because they needed them for a few days and the memorabilia I set aside were very fragile so I did not want to take the chance. I am glad that it work out for him he was very enthusiastic about the book and T206 cards. I wish him and his team the best, you will not be disappointed - great book for the collector.

Jimmy

Barry, yes. 25 years ago the guides and lists didn't even have first names for a few of them.

Default I added all the 1st names

to the Beckett checklist about 1991-92; and that was frankly because it was designed to work better with upcoming alphabetical checklists.

My first book is only $35, but there are no pictures of baseball cards, or anything else. Actually there is a photo on the cover.

My first book is $40, and is a coffee-table book, much like this one. I think it is selling on Amazon for $26.95, so by comparison, this book seems like a good deal.

And while there probably isn't any non-Southern Leaguer whose info isn't already out there, 90% of the T206 players are not household names, even for the big baseball fan. I get a new card and always have to look them up extensively, unless they are a Hall of Famer.

Books are like shoes. $100 for a comfortable pair of shoes that look great is a deal, and a pair of shoes that hurt your feet ever time you step were overpriced at $5.
