Default Show me your Sislers

Home from work today battling the flu... No better cure than saltines, green Gatorade, and a good book... I just finished Rick Huhn's: The Sizzler George Sisler, Baseball's Forgotten great. An unbelievable read that shed's light on George the player, the coach, and family man... I've always been impressed by his accomplishments as a player, but what's more impressive is how he improved the careers of Jackie, Duke, Gil, and later clemente...
Jackie hit .297, and .296 in 47,48. After working with sisler in the spring of 49 he elevated his ba to .342 and finished as a career .311 hitter. Hodges upped his average by 36 points the very same year... And the duke; .244 to .292 with power to boot... He was also a pirates special assistant from 1957-60, and undoubtedly played a big role in the the potent offense that helped the bucs secure the championship in 1960.

share your sisler's in honor of one of the most underrated greats.
