Default 2013 Vintage Pennant Price Guide

I am finally reaching the end of rough draft of the updated pennant guide. If anybody has any special pennants that they would like included, please email them to me or post a decent photo here. The book went from 208 pages to almost 350 with over 2,400 pennants. Thanks to everybody who has helped already. Mike

Mike,

This is the only significant Indians pennant I've added since the first edition. Let me know if you'd like a better image.

Rob

Jeff, LOVE the Cardinals pennant! I really like the black on red look! How rare is that one? And by rare I mean expensive. LOL

Chris,
I bought that one at the 2011 National. I was told it was a 40's vintage, I don't know, I do know that I have never seen it before. I believe I paid in the $150 range for it. I have not seen another since but I assume it is not that rare.

No - But if you can show the front of the pennant, we can probably narrow it down pretty closely. I have seen lots of tags sewn to the backs of pennants, but never that particular one.

Now I'm itching to see the pennant itself... please post, if not too much trouble.

You know that Chicago Pennant Company means it's probably teens or twenties and usually the kind of label seen on the good stuff. I would like to see the front of the pennant too.

That tag looks like a later style more from the 1950's than the 1920's to me. Mike

Unfortunately you are right. Chicago Pennant made some great early pennants, but that looks like 50's to me. We can always hope for undiscovered nrmt vintage pennants can't we? BTW that is a great Cubs pennant listed earlier.

Default Vintage pennant

Does anybody have information on these two vintage Univ. of Michigan pennants. Any idea of the time period they were issued and the approx. value of each one.

I'm looking to have a nice early one framed and displayed in my man cave. Any information would be helpful.

Your top Michigan pennant is the earlier of the two. I would say teens to twenties. The bottom one I am not so sure of. Most of the earlier ones that have sewn on leather are from that same era, but the tagging and shape of the sewn on letters make me think it is later, maybe 20-30's. They both appear oversize (closer to 36 inches), but the top one is definitely the older and better of the two. For value, I would say $150-200 for the top one and 100-125 for the bottom one. Hope this helps you, Jason

I would date the lower pennant prior to 1929 based on the seal. The University of Michigan seal with the 1837 date was used until 1929 when U-M adopted the current 1817 date as its founding.

They are both great pennants!

Default Stanford Pennants

Mike was kind enough to provide some guidance on the following pennants by telling me they were from the 1940s at latest. I was wondering if anyone had any more info. The first is from the Chicago Pennant Company. I can only show one picture per post so I will post three for this item. The second has no tag. Thanks in advance---Jay
