Default Mays 1954 SI Card?

I believe this is the 1954 Mays SI Card, but how can you tell for sure? No-name TPG is usually red flag and the backs are usually white/whiter, but anything else to confirm for sure?

**OK, just noticed it says so on the flip** Still wonder if there's something that tells you for sure?

Default 54 Mays SI

Ed---I have the magazine. The "card" is just paper. Not cardboard .I always thought them worth more intact in the magazine. I think it would be hard to examine them in plastic. But the grader should have been able to verify it was a paper card. By the way the actual 54 Mays has a variation...white slash on arm

Plus it's easy to pick up a decent copy of the entire magazine for a lot less.

Or.....I could cut mine up and pop rivet the Mays into a screwdown with a label. For lets say half his BIN? Then I could get a nicer copy of the magazine and a nice card or two as well.

Default Mays

Hey, thank you - never noticed the the arm band on the card itself, that's an easy pick-up. I agree, keeping in the magazine looks nicer and I would guess more valuable than some no-name TPG holder and grade.

Thanks again for the insight!

Ed

The backs of SI cards are printed exactly flipped in one direction over their regular Topps counterpart.
