Default Topps Baseball ? 1975

I have mentioned before that through 1994 I have collected anything listed for Topps in the SCD Standard Catalog ( starting in the days when they included post 1980 listings)

This 1975 set, as far as I know was never listed in SCD. So, I was blissfully unaware of it. Then, a very devious person, who I should not name but will, bobsbbcards ( Leon--I have my name in my post since I am calling out this individual), said he had a 1975 Topps baseball set I did not have. He was quite smug about it

The set has a 1975 copyright and was produced by a professional photographer Mike Mandell. The cards were packed with gum ( 10 to a pack) and the cards say "Gum by Topps Chewing Gum, Brooklyn"....rats.

The card fronts ( 134) show well known photographers dressed as baseball players, Ansel Adams as a catcher among them. The backs have a "bio" filled out by the individual photographers. Some are pretty funny and or weird. There is a checklist, to be sure you do not miss any cards from the set. Not sure if anyone but the listed photographers actually bought any of the packs, but they may have bought a bunch just to keep other people from seeing them

Since Bob forced me to collect them I am sharing some here since I now think everyone should collect them. And now I need an unopened pack or wrapper

Here are a couple of articles about the set

Way cool. That Adams is one of my favorite "baseball" cards!

That's me being extra smug. You should easily be able to go out and buy yourself a set, since you saved money during your visit eating up all our Rice Krispies.
