Default 1900s? Baseball photo

Any help on dating of this one? I am guessing 1910s but could be earlier...It's sort of like a homemade cabinet, approx 4 x 6 total . And don't know what the white spot is on the guy holding 2 fingers up but it's barely noticeable in person .....thanks!!

I think it might be a little earlier than the 1910s, Leon. I'm not sure why, but that is my sense.

nice photo - I'd personally ignore the "white spot" - it's still a great photo.

DS

ALMOST made a "dyke" comment, as in the "(2)finger(s) in the Dyke(s) joke, but refrained - (albeit implied)
but my above statements still stand. - nice image!

you MAY consider posing this again in the "worst team names" thread, as it's definitely worth another chuckle!

Thanks guys. Concerning the picture I also especially like the guy with the catchers mitt and whatever it is on his shoulders. It looks sort of like a small tablecloth.

I'm not into photos, but it's so cool that you find vintage items like that.

I agree with Gary. Subtract 5-10 years from 1910.

Late 1890's to about 1900 I'd say.

Leon,

I saw that as well and instantly thought that maybe this was a VERY early idea and form of protection. It is obviously hand made and maybe and some hay or cotton in the pockets to protect the Catcher's Shoulders!?!?!?!?!

Very cool!

Peace, Mike
