Yellowstone and most places in Colorado. Yosemite is next on the bucket list. Panama Beach, Florida if I just want to chill. 6:00 am, coffee and a book next to the lightly lapping waves on the beach. Just me and a sun up. Calgon take me away!

Default Deschutes River

A great vacation is a multi-day fishing float trip down the Deschutes River. I moved to Oregon and the close proximity to the Deschutes was indeed a factor. It is one of the countries premier wild trout & steelhead rivers. Yup, fresh coffee in the morning, waders on, fly rod in hand, then coffee cup slips in the side holder of my fanny pack while I wade out a little for that first trout of the day - Fish On !

Yosemite and Yellowstone are great.
I highly recommend Denali, Bryce, Zion and Acadia in Maine.
I love our National Parks.
It is a shame what is happening to them now.

I don't do much traveling but did have a business trip to Sanibel some years ago. Nice place. Saw a monument to Raymond Burr who used to hang out down there apparently.

Check out the Outer Banks of N.C., in particular, Southern Shores. Lots of nice rentals geared to families.

Trust me, spent plenty of hours doing it and you don't want pictures.

My favorite trip:

My wife and I flew to Phoenix and drove through Oak Creek Canyon and then shot over to Los Angeles and then up the Pacific Coast highway all the way from Los Angeles to Seattle. Lots of driving but an awesome and, actually, pretty cheap trip.

Started with a Dodger game and then just cruised up the coast on Highway 1. No reservations anywhere. Went in the 3rd week of September - no crowds, nice weather.

There's so much to see - from Malibu to Carmel to SF and on up into Oregon and Washington. You can veer off to Crater Lake and Olympic National parks, which we did. One day we went from sunny and 75º to snow and 32º.

We did it in about 8 days, but you could easily spend 8 weeks.
