Default Happy birthday to my friend mike sandlock turns 100 10/17 2015

Just wanted to send a happy birthday wish to my friend Mike Sandlock! Turns 100 on Saturday! Just a great guy and a pleasure to talk to. I stopped by and said hello he has lost a little pep in his step but still has some great stories. Our local golf club is honoring him with a nice dinner so I hope to get over there and wish him well! Happy 100th Mike!! Al

I think, if I recall correctly, you posted last year for his 99th and I remember really enjoying reading your connection to Mike!

Default 1953

Two versions of his 53 card. The botched upper left border is recurring

Poor guy was in baseball hell in 1953. Not only was his team 55 games out of first place but he also had to catch for a rotation full of knucklers, leading the league with fifteen passed balls in only about fifty-five games. Of course baseball hell is still pretty sweet:

I saw he was mentioned in the Oct 19th issue of Sports Illustrated as the oldest living MLB player. Wow! Happy 100th Mr. Sandlock.

Congrats!

When he was born, the Cubs still hadn't won a World Series in 7 years.
