Default Just a quick question for the dealers

Posted By: Andy

I have been a long time lurker to these boards and have learned a tremendous amount. I have just a quick question on etiquette at a large show.

What do you guys think, if a guy were to take a set he was working on to a show to look for upgrades. Say he has the set in a binder for quick reference between the cards he is interested in purchasing and the cards he already has. Do you think this is inappropriate to do at a dealers table. Does it open up too many concerns for the dealers that their cards would be easy to steal.

Just curious as I was thinking of doing this at the National this year.

Thanks for your input,

Andy

You would be doing yourself a huge mistake not to. To try and remember your cards conditions, even from a list is difficult. Most dealers should be okay with you bringing to compare. I would caution as to taking your cards out and mixing with his as that can become confusing and someone may think you are trying to switch them.

I once got a scowl when comparing a card i had(purposely brought to the table) to one in a dealers case, as he knew I was comparing to see if his was trimmed(it was).

If they question your motives, jsut explain that you are upgrading or filling holes and they should be fine. Be fore warned there are a few not so pleasurable dealers in the 800+/- you will encounter, just shrug them off and go to the next one.

Scott

Scott is right on. No decent and reputable dealer will have any issue what so ever.
