Default 1952 Topps Preacher Roe #66 - Real or Reprint??

Good morning to everyone, I'm new to this forum and have enjoyed reading many interesting threads already about vintage cards.

I've been collecting most of my life but just recently, in the last 6 months, decided to collect mostly Post-War Vintage because the newer stuff just gets too frustrating. My challenge for the next several years is attempting to put a 1952 Topps set together (EX-EX+ and higher, whether RAW or graded). My question, I've supplied a URL to an Ebay auction for a Preacher Roe card and asking if this is real or a reprint? I'm still learning daily on what to look for but the color on the back of this card just doesn't seem consistent with the rest of my collection. It has been listed several times already with no one purchasing it; which throws up a flag to me... Would anyone have any insight if this is real or not? Appreciate any feedback and thanks for your time!!

Welcome to the board, Chad. You are correct, the color on the back of the card doesn't look consistent with other '52s. Also, the right border also looks wavy and thin as if it might be trimmed. It's hard to tell without the card in hand, but for those two reasons I would stay away. Good luck!

Thank you very much for the response, it will be great to have contacts as yourself. Such a fulfilling hobby, yet so many dishonest individuals out there...

Welcome to the boards. In looking at their other items it looks like their scanner is doing some weird things to the colors. I'd say it is real but I think all the other 52 Topps they have for sale are graded, it is the sole exception. So something is probably wrong with it.
