At least $30,000. Imagine what a miscut, one of a kind version would go for?

One. Million. Dollars.

Psa 2 10,000
psa 3 18,000
Psa 4 30,000
I think they will get to these prices before we see a slow down not sure how long it will take but don't think they will go down in price anytime soon. For nice looking cobbs

I keep asking myself when will they slow down. However, look at what '52 topps mantles bring. Maybe green cobby's still have room to grow?

What the population numbers don't tell - how many have been resubmits that boost the pops? Then how many have really nice centering. How many have nice registration. How many are crease free (minimum EX 5)? How many are we now really left with? Who knows, but not that many.

Pop numbers for the green cobby are tougher to determine due to SGC's pop report but my best combined guess is;

Green Cobb - 1252
'52 Mantle - 1955

Really nice centering - check!
Nice registration - check!
Crease and wrinkle free - check! But not minimum EX 5
Not as cool as Jeff's miscut - check!

There is a PSA 7 right now in Memory Lane. Let's guess what that will go for. I'm thinking $48K.

Who knows what the Memory Lane 7 will end at. The image/registration on this example is quite hideous though in my opinion.

So I am understanding this, the thread you started by exclaiming a "Wow" in regards to the price of the $16K Cobb sold in Goodwin is the one you purchased? If so, I can't say I've seen that before on this board.

Either way, congrats on a nice card, and hopefully the price will continue to rise. (I think threads like this certainly can't hurt in that capacity.)

I commissioned that Cobb. Was very surprised and happy with closing price! Thought I paid too much about two years ago. Finally didn’t lose money on a sale. Centering...centering...centering.

I am looking to scoop up all the 1915 Cobb Cracker Jacks in PSA 1 for $800 that I can as well as 1915 Matty CJs for $225 and WaJo Cracker Jacks for $225 -- since that is what SMR says they go for. The minor Hall of Famers for $30 sure seem like a nice deal as well on the 1915 Cracker Jacks, according to SMR.

Ha! I admire your gusto. Earlier this summer I paid low five figures for a PSA 3, and I was dreading someone would start a thread about it (they did.) I personally believe nice examples have upside, so I think you did well.

You laugh but when i was selling green cobbs on this site there were members on this forum quoting SMR prices in their counter offers. I kept saying that private sales were going for more but again SMR SMR..

Coincidentally (?) the cover story of the new SMR is on collecting Cobb.

And so began one young man's quest to preserve 1% of sales on the net54 BST.

I get that BS several times a day through ebay. I respond to most of them the same way. If that is what SMR has the card for then go buy one from SMR. I have not looked at the pricing in an SMR for years. I just get it for the pictures!

Default Green Cobb

I picked up this one many years ago for the price of a PSA 1. I don't have any other trimmed cards in my collection but I have been very happy with this one.

Pretty sure I have seen supposedly non-trimmed examples with less white boarder.
