This ma be the same jersey or there something similar offered awhile back. You are right, he would have been better off selling the crads if he was looking for resale ptential. Neat idea, but I doubt thereis uch of a market. Especially at the pric point he is looking for.

I like to sit outside, drink beer and yell at people. If I did this at home, I would be arrested. So, I go to baseball games and fit right in.

I wonder if this guy is from some kind of splinter Amish sect. The whole point of having the swatch is the name connected with it on the card.

He's an idiot AND a moron.

(unless someone buys the damn thing. Then I take it all back. My god, what an ugly shirt, tho. I'd pay more for a game used Dwayne Murphy jersey circa 1981)

Kind of dumb looking (the jersey and Tim Allen). The only way I would consider this concept worthwhile was if the swatches were sewn into an actual jersey you could wear. Pasting them to the back of a shirt doesn't work for me. But I'm neither the owner nor a bidder, so my opinion is of little relevance.

I've always liked those old time blankets and pillow cases made from baseball silks and felts, so I'm not inherently against the concept.

I saw recently that Topps will be offering Josh Gibson bat cards this year. There was an outcry over the Ruth jersey, but this is even worse. Assuming the bat is authentic, the idea that a Gibson bat could have survived is truly amazing. And then to be cut into slivers. It's just disguisting. Does Topps really make enough money selling that crap to make up for the cost of a Josh Gibson bat?

Let's hope it's "authentic" and not authentic. At some point, I wish a historical society or something would sue to put a stop to this. If they can keep developers from tearing down buildings, why couldn't they also put a stop to this idiocy.

Topps didn't wait long for a Gibson bat to be released.

I'm waiting for the original Declaration of Independence swatch cards. They could do cut signatures of all the signers too.

Too many doofuses.

Somehow this reminds me of the painter Amedeo Modigliani. He was a dirt
poor drug addict and tried to pay his rent with his paintings. The landlord
didn't think much of the painter and literally used the paintings to line
his bird cages. Much to the landlord's chagrin, within years Modigliani became
posthumously famous and the paintings would have been worth a fortune.

It's really rather funny...sure the guy did something silly, but I think we all agree that it's a nice diversion to the nightly news about murders, burglaries , and war.
His comments back to the "audience" are clever. If he got a bit of fun ( maybe even some money) for his time, more power to him.

The whole GU swatches thing is disturbing...what this guy did is actually humourous!

Take Care
