Great article Bill. If anyone hasn't read it, they need to and Bill certainly deserves "public recognition" for pulling all this info together.

I would be happy to make you a copy....I am guessing this is from #32, as I have not seen it yet....shoot I just got #31 a few weeks ago or so, but when I see it I will do it for you....BTW, even though there has been a lot of negative press on the board about VCBC it is still a great mag....especially since there are no others like it...... and you might want to contemplate a subscription.....best regards

Wasn't there link to the VCBC home page somewhere in the group? If there was, I can't find it.

Thanks for the kind words, Scott. My journalism career will probably begin and end with this article, but it's gratifying to see it in print.

As a postscript: the current Mastro lot #1274 has 2 1913 Fatima advertising pieces, one of which contains the same photos of Demaree, Houck, and Brown that were used in the T222 set in slightly altered form. The accompanying photos of Matty, Plank and Joe Jackson (lot #1278) were inexplicably left out of the set - whoever was picking players for the T222's had a perverse sense of talent.

Bill
