I'm looking for a checklist of 1955 & 1959/60 Armour Coins
Players, Colors & Prices if available
Was wondering outside of Publications if there is any info on the Internet.
VCP list Topps & Salada Coins but not Armour
I collected these as a kid and would like to start a collection again.
Haven't had any history with these for 50yrs.
Thanks in advance
Jerry

so called common colors are
red, blue, light green, aqua, orange and yellow
yellow is tougher than the others
the kuenn correct and trucks correct variations are very difficult in all colors
the mantle correct varaiations are extremely difficult and in some colors are nearly impossible
yellow comes in many shades most collectors just count yellow as yellow though
black is a rare color but a complete 33 coin set can be made although not easily
other colors like gold silver tan and dark green are very scarce and it is not know if a complete set can be made

What would be really nice now would be to get a high-res scan of each of those "colours" to put next to the colour name to use as a definitive reference. I'm completely willing to do the scanning, but unfortunately, my Armour coin sets are completely composed of the common colours. sad.gif

Bob-I fail to see why you cannot distinguish between those nine shades of blue in 1960....piece of cake without scans!

1960
bud daley is tough but available in yellow and orange
dark yellow green and blue are very scarce and a recent discovery of bud daleys in a multitude of test colors has surfaced
outside of daley
red,orange,yellow,dark green,lime green,light green, dark green translucent
blue and blue translucent are quite common
however all players do not come in all these colors
royal blue navy blue are a lot tougher
grey/blue dark yellow are very tough
salmon slate blue and pale yellow are rare
cream and brown are unique
REMEMBER not all players come in these 19 colors
there are 6 or 7 coins that only exist in orange yellow and the rare dark yellow

cream ive only seen 2 players boyer and mantle
brown ive only seen mantle and daley

Thanks Guys, Great Info

Here's what I remember from my childhood. I always made my mother buy Armour franks when she bought Hotdogs because of the coins and I was always happy if I didn't get another damn Red Frank Malzone. I was always getting Red Malzone's for some reason, is he the most common Coin What year would that have been 1959?.

Larry,
Definitely noticed that. I know that you have been trying to locate a gold Mantle for a while. I've never seen a silver Armour coin. Do you have one of those?
Bob
