If someone here won the 1902 Philadelphia A's Sporting News Supplement I can give you more info on the rubber stamp and "compliments of" signature on the piece...

Default REA Wins

I was in a battle (and lost) for the 1910-Era Original Pitching Grip Photograph Collection (15) Including Walter Johnson and Chick Gandil.

If the winning bidder is in here and would part with a Walter Johnson photo please let me know!

I did pick up a photo I've always wanted (and could afford at Type III) of Lou sitting on the dugout steps after he benched himself.

Wonderful photo. Lou looking wistfully . . . watching guys hustling . . . the bat just lying there. That's art.

LOVE the Lou photo. If I've seen that one, it's been awhile. I was able to snag these two last night.

Struck out on all the REA items I was interested in. So instead, last night I treated myself to a small consolation price to help with my Mayo set

Don't usually post pick-ups, but these two bring me to 485 different OJ subjects. Pretty sure I'm done at that number. Not much eye appeal, but the last of the Spotted Ties I needed.

Also snagged my favorite T207 front/back combo. If anyone has a lead on the Red Cross Weaver, it's the last one that I need

Crazy, but some of my absolute favorite items in the auction have already been posted... the Lou dugout photo, that e95 Cobb (have always loved that image) and the rarely seen Cleveland w601. Nice work.

Default Great pickups everyone!

Great pickups everyone! I snagged this beauty to add to my Cobb collection.
Snagged this beauty last on REA to add to my Cobb collection. I've compared dozens and dozens of T205 Cobbs over the past year or two, from past sales, current available and misc. auctions.
For me, it was always important to find:
* a centered copy
* a copy with minimal/no side chipping
* strong colors. strong registration
* solid to strong corners
Basically, the best copy right!?!
Well, the unicorn (for me) became available during this past REA auction, so I pushed in all the chips. I know of many of the known 6 copies and most 5 copies and knew that this was better than almost every 5 I had seen (often not close) and most 6's. Knowing a 7 and the few 8's out there would probably never be in the cards for me, I went for it.
Pinching myself a bit here and can't wait to welcome this beauty home to join the Cobb family.

I don't throw around the word "accomplishment" much, but that much of that set is an accomplishment. That's awesome.

Holy cow - that is stunning! I love how you did your research and knew exactly what you were looking for before it even became available. To me, those are some of the most satisfying additions you can make and those purchases are much harder to ever part with. Congrats!!

Just one for me...but it's a good one and I think I bought it well.

Pricing seemed to come down a bit on a lot of cards.

Love the E95 Cobb, T205 Cobb and the 1908 Sporting Life Joe Jackson and kicking myself for not making a run at that one. Those come two ways which are with and without punch holes on the side.

Made my last bids at 145am EST as sleep kicked in. I was close to winning the Big boy gallery below (and well played who out lasted me on the Gehrig) and won the other gallery which I’m happy to get. I out lasted another currency collector for the 1889 Chicago note, as my my OCD kept kicking in. The lot I’m most looking to get in is the foldout postcard which has a great Honus Wagner postcard inside which wasn’t shown on the listing. Knowledge is good on certain items

Outbid on what I really wanted (the 1869 Red Stockings Sheet Music and 1880s Figural Trophy). But managed to pick up two Joe Tinker pieces, both with beautiful aesthetics...

https://bid.robertedwardauctions.com...?itemid=175220

https://bid.robertedwardauctions.com...?itemid=175186

Question... What's the deal with PSA's grading standards on the M101-2 Supplements? Most of the "1" grades I've seen have tape stains, creases, outright rips/tears, and chunks of missing paper. How does this Tinker grade a "1" and how big is PSA's range for the grade?

And has anyone ever seen an example graded better than "2"? Seems like a ridiculous grading scale... the differences between "3" and "10" must be microscopic. How about evening out the range, for goodness' sake?

Long time REA auction window shopper, first time buyer for me. Picked up this awesome 1889 A35 Goodwin Round Album Page that I thought was pretty undervalued.

Looks like Glasscock AG's are doing really well these days. The PSA 4 went for $2,700 after juice.

Wonder if there's been any chatter about him finally getting in. Seems like people are paying like he is lately. I'd love to see it.

[QUOTE=Webster;2428529]Don't usually post pick-ups, but these two bring me to 485 different OJ subjects. Pretty sure I'm done at that number. Not much eye appeal, but the last of the Spotted Ties I needed.

Wow, 485, that is some feat! Congrats.

The round album is so undervalued. That was a great price i thought.

Default Two pieces

Well, i won the N162 Kelly. Thought it was the nicest one i have seen in a long while. Might have been old label but who cares when the front looks like this? Anyway, needed it for my set (full set, not just the baseball) and am down to 2 cards now. Very excited.

Also picked up my 3rd of the 4 Dukes…there were many other great cards (was eyeing that w601 Jackson as well, congrats to the winner of that), but after these two i was done.

Paul

It doesn't fit my collection or this forum, but the Mets fan inside me couldn't let this one go. At least it fits this thread.

I haven't had much luck in these big auctions this past year, generally getting bid up in the last couple of hours and/or extended bidding, but I was able to pick this little historical gem

Snagged this beauty last on REA to add to my Cobb collection. I've compared dozens and dozens of T205 Cobbs over the past year or two, from past sales, current available and misc. auctions.
For me, it was always important to find:
* a centered copy
* a copy with minimal/no side chipping
* strong colors. strong registration
* solid to strong corners
Fantastic Cobb Brian. I too am patiently waiting for the right T205 Cobb, albeit in a lower grade, to come along. What a beauty.

Some fantastic pickups by forum members - congrats to all. These 2 cards that I had a go at went for a bit more than I was willing to spend:
- The N370 Lone Jack Cigs card: https://bid.robertedwardauctions.com...?itemid=174635
- The J, K & A cabinet of Clark Griffith: https://bid.robertedwardauctions.com...?itemid=175245
