Default One more speaker for the Net54baseball dinner?

We have 2 definite speakers for the Net54baseball dinner at the National. We also have 3 that are tentative. If we get one of those three I will be surprised and happy. That being said I would like to open up the microphone for one more speaker. If anyone wants to speak publicly about the hobby, at the Dinner, please PM me or email me at leonl@flash.net .....I have had a few suggestions but I would prefer people request to do it themselves. In other words please don't email me saying you know someone that might want to speak. If you do, that is great, ask that person to email me and we can chat about it. If we don't get another speaker, and only end up with two, I might be forced to start dancing on stage to kill a few minutes. I have less than no rhythm, if that is even possible. Regardless, the Dinner isn't necessarily about the speakers it's about getting together with friends, meeting and making some new ones, and just kicking back and taking it easy. That's what the dinner is all about. (to me)

I vote for Leon to dance a little jig at the dinner whether there less than 3 speakers or not! And maybe use one of those t-shirt guns to shoot Net54 t-shirts out into the crowd!

Since I posted we have another spot filled, and it will be divided into 4 very short updates. I doubt I will need to dance now. If I have enough beer before the speeches I might still break out into a flash mob type dance .

That was a pretty big hit last time Phil......lets see how it goes and if we need a bit of gap filler we will have it covered. I assume you will be the host of that? Maybe we do something fun? See me beforehand and lets talk about it....LL (my wife is saying I really shouldn't dance )

Actually, Leon, I was just kidding, I am taking the train this time and will be heading home Friday afternoon and unfortunately will miss the Net 54 Dinner this year. I'm sure it will be another great event and I hope that everyone has a great time.

Leon - I think you should seriously have an open forum discussion where people could just bring up issues & others can respond. Josh Evans did that a little bit of this after he spoke at a previous Net54 dinner, but this years could be much longer discussions.

Default way way back in the day

When the National actually had seminars. the most popular one was "the state of the hobby". I think a "state of the viintage hobby" panel would be a cool idea
