Default Stamp out auctions

Way too many auctions and it's killing the hobby. Conversation about baseball and collecting dosen't exsit at shows - less and less dealers and many more auction houses set up and fill the convention - i'm asked more and more if my stuff is for sale or is it an auction --- promoters are taking advanatge of this by using it as an autograph show and overcharging to get a baseball signed - this once was used to encourge fathers and sons to come out and experince the fun of collecting and create a good time while bonding with their kids. Now they pay $200.00 for a Cliff Lee item signed and pay admission to get in.

The Auction houses wouldn't survive let alone prosper unless the collectors were supporting them. So maybe the problem isn't too many auction houses but too many dealers.

BTW... Didn't Dorskind predict that there would be only several auction houses still in business by this time?
