Default 1939 California first baseball game stamp

Thought this was a little bit interesting. Here is a write up on it:

First Baseball Game in California, 1930s Poster Stamp. Baseball was based on an English game called "rounders." Alexander Cartwright of New York invented the modern baseball game in 1845. Cartwright and members of his New York Knickerbocker Base Ball Club, devised the first rules and regulations for the modern game of baseball. The first baseball game in California was played in 1849, the year in which Cartwright spent five days in San Francisco on his way to Hawaii. Interest in baseball as a gentlemen's sport continued and by the 1860s, there were more than 12 baseball clubs in San Francisco alone. The slogan "Shine in '39" was a San Francisco Program to encourage local communities, businesses and individuals to beautify the area in preparation for the opening of the 1939 Golden Gate International Exposition and World's Fair and to commemorate California's history, achievements, events and personalities. This poster stamp was issued by the POSTAMP Publishing Company and is in mint never hinged condition with original gum.

Stamps are a neat collectable area. Anyone have any stamps they would like to post? I will probably add a few to the mix as we go. Some of them have very bright colors and are a (mostly) inexpensive thing to collect and enjoy. regards
