Default Spider Baum Website Debuts

Pacific Coast league pitcher Spider Baum was my great-grandfather and I've created a website to honor his baseball career. The site is incomplete, we need to add captions to photos and correct some type, but it's now open for viewing. You will find contributions by a wide range of baseball authors, dozens of newspaper articles from the early 1900's, scans of Spider's baseball cards and many photographs from our family archives. You'll be able to read a 1911 Sacramento Bee article that reports a foul ball pitched by Spider soared out of the ball park and hit his 2 year-old daughter, my grandmother, on her head as she sat in a baby carriage, temporarily paralyzing her. Should you have stories, photos or signed contracts to contribute I'd love to hear from you. Regardless, let me know what you think of the website: www.spiderbaum.com

Good job, Mark. Love the photos. Spider wearing his bowler hat sitting with his wife and small child on the front stoop reminds me of the scene in The Godfather II in which Vito sits with his family outside their apartment building. And some of those pristine cards -- The D311, Big Eater, etc. -- would make any PCL collector drool.

Loved the cards. The colour variations were pretty neat to look at.

The site was very well done. The links flowed extremely well and the design makes it easy to look at. Kudos!

Loved the site. It is great to see hard work pay off in such a manner. When I did my site posting some of the Zeenut cards was gratifying because they were so hard to find.
Well done!
