I can't speak to either, but my first word of caution is to be absolutely sure it is not a high quality copy under the glass.

Marilyn's early (with her new name) signature was a bit haphazard, so I can't say for certain if it is definitively good or not. I see a lot that seems very good, but not everything. I would also be very concerned with a high resolution laser copy, as was stated before.

Personally I have avoided the earliest of her signatures as Marilyn because it took her a while to get the flow that became the hallmark of her wonderful signature.

It is the correct bank branch for her in 1948, so that's a plus.

Well it looks to be a copy then, since the original was blue ink, and the one offered for sale is black ink!

I think Jeff's scan is enhanced quite a bit (not by Jeff but the AH IMO). I saw this check on the bay and was curious too. I have owned several MM checks over the years and the signature looks VERY clean, if you get my drift...........
